Colorado with Grandma and Pops

Ryan we went to Colorado with Grandma and Pops, Uncle Philip and Aunt Mary, and Uncle Rory and Aunt MaryAnn and Cousin Logan. We went to the Memorial Road Church of Christ Encampment. You were such a good boy there. Everyone loved seeing you and passing you around.
Aunt Mary liked cuddling with you.

Grandma said the two things she wanted to do there was hike and babysit you! She read you books and sang songs with you. You smiled and laughed with here a lot.

She would watch you while daddy and I went on dates...We rode the chairlift, went on hikes, and had breakfast together.

We took you with us on hikes too! I think you really like being out in God's world.
You decided that you did not like to be carried like this. Maybe when you're a little older we can turn you around so you can see everything.

You rode in a wagon pulled by horses and learned about the town we were staying in. It was a little cold so we wrapped you in a towel.
P.S. You learned how to blow rasberries with your tongue this week. It's so cute and so slobbery!!

Your First Plane Ride

Ryan you took your first plane ride last week!! Mommy didn't fly in a plane until she was 22 years old!! You're a lucky boy! You did so good. I had a bottle ready for you to have in case your ears started to pop, but on the way to Colorado you just slept most of the way. You didn't have a care in the world.

Here you are ready for your first flight!

On the way home you were such a good boy too! You were awake the whole time, but as happy as can be. You played a laughed with mommy and daddy. The lady sitting next to daddy said you were the best baby she had ever seen on a plane! We're so proud of you!

Your First Trip

Ryan you went on your first trip last weekend. We went with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Doug and his family, and Uncle Nic. We had such a good time. You didn't really like the long car drive very much. We stopped a couple times to let you eat and stretch your legs. We went to Branson, Missouri. It was a really good place to go with all of our family. We stayed in a hotel that was a cabin. You can see Daddy holding you and your cousin Stone getting to know you in this picture. The first night sleeping was really hard. You weren't in your bed and Mommy couldn't sleep because you kept making noises in your sleep. It was better the second night, though. We put more padding in your bed and moved you a little further away, and we both slept better!

We went to a musical called "Noah." It was a story about Noah in the Bible. You slept through about half of it even though it was very loud. Then you woke up and wanted to eat and you were happy. You liked looking at all of the lights and real live animals that were on the stage. We all had a good time.

We went shopping at a mall and, of course, Grandma and Grandpa couldn't resist buyin you some new clothes even though you have more than I do. At least they're for when you get bigger.

On Saturday we went to Silver Dollar City. It was pretty hot and you had to ride in your stroller all day. Sometimes you were okay with that, but sometimes you weren't. You would get hot and sweaty. I had to cover your stroller with a blanket so that the sun wouldn't shine on you and burn you. You took a few short naps that day. I fed you a couple times while we were at the park and I accidentally left your formula sitting somewhere. You were hungry when we were getting in the car to leave before I realized it. Boy did you ever cry a lot. I almost cried because I felt bad for loosing your food. We found a Walgreens and got you some more, though, and all was good again.

We all had such a good time and we can't wait to do it again!

Grandma and Pops Come to Visit

Grandma and Pops came to visit you on July 4th. Daddy and I went on a date to see a movie and they played with you while we were out. You had so much fun with them, and they loved spending time with you!!

First 4th of July

You had your first Fourth of July!!! I think you thought the fireworks were pretty. The night before the fourth the neighbors behind us decided to set off a bunch of fireworks. They were very noisy, but you slept right through all the noise, and through a big thunderstorm!! THEN you decided to wake up when everything was quiet. Oh well...

Ready for some firecrackers!

So You had a Bad Day

Well, Ryan, we started the day by going to Dr. Fumia's office one last time. He wanted to make sure my blood pressure was under control. (It's okay, but not great.) I also asked him about my milk supply for you. Even with the medicine he put me on, I'm not supplying enough for your demand. It's been an emotional roller coaster ride trying to decide what I want to do. One minute I'll say I'm completely done nursing you, but the next I think I can't just give it up now. I thought and prayed a lot about it and came to a decision that I think will bring my sanity back...maybe...

I'm going to nurse and bottle feed you every other time. That way feeding don't take forever because I'm trying to do both at every session, and I won't be so stressed about whether or not I've given you enough. I'm hoping and praying this will work.

Daddy went on a business trip today. He'll be back soon, but it's been rough with him gone, and it's only been a few hours. I think you miss him too, because you've been extra fussy today. Uncle Nic is coming to stay with us while Daddy is gone. He'll keep us safe.

Worth Waiting For

These are the moments that are worth waiting for. When I get to sit down with my own son and read a book about how much I love you...it brings tears to my eyes to think of this wonderful blessing God has given us.

If you don't have this book you need to get it. It's called "I love you this much." It talks about the parents love for the child and God's love for the child. So good!!

You have shown us that you were worth the wait. Just think...Out of all the things that Mommy and Daddy went through, thinking we'd never have a baby. God knew the exact right time for us to get pregnant. He knew it was you, Ryan, that needed to be a part of our family.

You amaze us every day. You're beautiful. You're holding your head up more and more every day. You're beautiful. You are trying to role over. Did I mention you're beautiful? You're even becoming more vocal. We love you so very very much.
