Away for 10 Days!

Daddy went to London for 10 whole days so we went to stay with Gram and Papaw. We had so much fun. You, of course, made a great first impression of being a house guest. The first day we were there all but one of your diapers were dirty. That was really fun. Then, the second day were were in Skiatook, you were mooching some peach cobbler from Gram and pops said "Uh oh! He's leaking!!!" He actually should have said "he's dropping." You had dirtied your diaper and it was dropping down, and out, of your pants. That was fabulous. We thought it was just there where you were standing, but oh no. You had made a trail all the way from the kitchen to the living room. It's a good thing they have hard floors. Needless to say, we went straight to the bath.

We had lots of fun staying with Gram and Papaw, even though we had to stay in the house until we stopped coughing and didn't have a runny nose anymore. We played with them, and they would read to you at night and rock you to sleep. For some reason (probably because you weren't in your normal bed) you were waking up very very early. Oh, well, right?

Saturday night Uncle Doug and his family came over and had dinner with us. It was fun playing with Cousin Stone. He showed us how he could say everyone's name. You two will be best buds!

While we were there, you tried out feeding yourself again. We had baked some sweet potatoes for the grown-ups and had some left over. We just cut the potato into bite sized peices for you and you loved it!! You even ate some toast while we were there. Sunday after church we went to a resturaunt for lunch and I gave you some of my green beans. You liked those a lot.

Daddy came home yesterday and boy were we happy to see him!!! When we picked him up at the airport we ran to see him and you had a smile on your face the whole way. He was pretty tired last night, but he played and played with you this morning. You love your daddy so much. Now we're back home in our own beds and with all of our toys. I was a lot of fun staying with Gram and Papaw, but it's good to be home!

Getting into Everything!!!

You've started getting into everything you can reach now. Mommy and Daddy are seeing all of the things we need to put away or put on a higher shelf.

You wanted to see what the chairs were all about. You pulled up on the chairs and got stuck under the table. You finally figured out that you had to drop down to the floor to get out of it.


Mommy was doing laundry and pulled the clothes out of the dryer. Thirty seconds later I went back and found you here. It's so sweet of you to help Mommy with the laundry. You're getting to fast, mister!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Ryan you got your very first Valentine's Day card from Great-Grandma Joan. You were very excited to look at it, and you even gave it a little taste test. Thank you GG Joan!!!!

OSBI SpokesBaby

Pops gave you this shirt for Christmas. We have to wear it on warm days now, because you'll be too big for it by spring time. You look so cute in it.

Hooray for New Old Toys!

Ryan, this is a toy you had when you were itty bitty. It was a mat you would lay on and hit the toys with your hands and feet. Mommy made it into a tunnel (it was made to do that) and you love it. You love crawling through and playing with the toys again.

Pulling Up

You're pulling up on anything you can get your hands on. When you fall down you complain a little, but you're getting tougher and tougher. You fell a few days ago and bit your tongue and bruised your top gums. You may just have one tooth, but it's a good one!

RSV

Ryan, you've been sick since Saturday. You woke up with a runny nose. We went to see Gram and Papa and by the time we left you felt warm. When we got home I checked and you had a fever. We were supposed to play with Stone, but couldn't because you're sick. You had a fever all weekend. It got as high as 103.4. I took you to see the doctor Monday morning. She said it was most likely RSV. There is a test she could do to confirm it, but a lot of insurance companies will say you're uninsurable if it came back positive. It has something to do with the fact that most babies who have RSV will later develop asthma. You're probably going to develop asthma anyway, because of DNA, so we agreed it was a good idea not to do the test. Sunday and Monday were probably the hardest days. You've been coughing a lot, had a really runny nose, and a fever. You've been pretty miserable, but still slept pretty well at night. Daddy and I are thankful for that. Yesterday I bought a humidifier for your room. We also tilted your mattress. Those two things seemed to help a lot. Today I've been suctioning your nose a lot. You absolutely hate it, but it helped a lot too. You've been without a fever all day today. You played with your toys. Before all you wanted to do is lay in my lap. Through the day Daddy and I could tell you were feeling better and better. We're so glad. I don't like when my Ryan is sick.

Ryan, you slept until 7:30 this morning. WOW!!! I kept waking up at 5:30, 5:45…..6:15….7:00 ready to feed you but you weren’t even stirring. Maybe you can do that again?
You have been doing some amazing things these past few days. You’re a comfortable crawler now and you have figured out how to pull yourself up onto things. Sometimes, when your courage builds up, you let go from whatever you’re holding onto, free standing for about 4 seconds before you come crashing down. But crashing doesn’t seem to bother you; you hop right back up. You are so proud and think it’s such a great game! Well, it’s almost 9am now and you are winding down. Time for a nap! Love you very much, Dad.

Ryan Stands Up

Ryan, this was the night you stood by yourself for the very first time. I wasn't able to get video or a picture of it because I was so shocked and excited. You were in a very happy mood. Daddy and I had such fun playing with you. You are pulling up on anything you can get your hands on now. My little boy is growing so fast!!!

Standing Up!!

Unfortunately this is the closest picture we have so far of you standing on your own. You look so cute holding onto Daddy's leg. You did stand up on your very own for 4-5 seconds!!! We weren't even trying to get you to do it. You were pulling up on Daddy and stood up all the way while holding on. Then you just decided to let go!!! I had the camera in my hand, but was in such shock I didn't think to take a picture. We're so proud of you!!

Ryan the Adventurer

You've become more and more brave about where you adventure. I caught you trying to crawl INTO your toy box. You're so funny. You finally pulled out one of your favorite books, "Rubber Duck and Friends."

Noah Built an Ark

Miss Jennifer and her boys Conner and Taylor gave us this Noah's Ark set. It's one of the cutest I've seen. Ryan, you really like playing with is. Thank you Hill family.

Baby it's Cold Outside

Ryan you experienced your first snow. It was actually mostly ice here in Tulsa. Most of Oklahoma was effected. Schools were out for 3-4 days. That means we stayed in too. Most of the time we stayed in our pajamas. It's fun to stay in our pajamas to stay warm all day.

It finally got warm enough for us to venture out and see what snow is all about. You mostly just sat there and looked around. I showed you how you can touch the snow, but since you had mittens on you weren't really interested.
